Technology transfer by G-POWER – the technology from the 800 hp world record-breaking G-POWER M5 HURRICANE RR is now also available for the BMW Z4 E85 and 3 Series E46, delivering a power increase of up to 55 hp.

Following a 12-month development program, involving extensive CAD work complemented with virtual computational fluid dynamics analysis (CFD analysis) and intensive test driving, G-POWER presents the all-new, perfected SK Plus “Sporty Drive” supercharger system. All components have been developed from scratch or extensively revised based on our many years of experience. The resulting components are manufactured using state-of-the-art production processes. The supercharger mounting plate and the complete air ducting, for example, are made from lightweight cast aluminium. Plus, all parts of the SK Plus “Sporty Drive” system made from sheet metal are CNC laser cut from non-corroding materials. Due to our investment in sophisticated tooling and equipment, as well as our high-volume manufacturing setup, we are able to offer consistent quality at a considerably lower price.
Moreover, thanks to the complete redevelopment of the system, its overall part count has been reduced, further simplifying the installation of the SK Plus “Sporty Drive” system. An optimized storage facility means that the availability of the system has been improved, facilitating dispatch usually within 1-2 days after receipt of order.
Like its “big brother” the G-POWER M5 HURRICANE RR, the heart of the system is an OE-quality supercharger from renowned German manufacturer ASA Kompressor GmbH. The all-new ASA T3-313 replaces the previous ASA TM3 supercharger. Optimization of the geometry of the compressor and its housing, originally developed for the record-breaking vehicle, enable earlier and even more efficient build-up of boost pressure, thus ensuring outstanding pulling power in the middle of the rev range. At full revs, the G-POWER SK Plus supercharger system achieves an increase in output of up to 55 hp compared with the series-production version, at a relative boost pressure of only 0.3 bar. Fitted to the 3.0l engine in the BMW Z4 3.0i or the BMW E46 330i, maximum output climbs to ca. 210 kW/286 hp and 345 Nm of torque.
More important to the customer than the naked figures, however, is the power delivery – i.e. the experience generated by this additional output. The key here is the term “Sporty Drive”. In the specification for every tuning program undertaken by G-POWER, this aspect is afforded the same priority as the target power increase itself.

In order to ensure that all this extra power is delivered safely to the road, G-POWER recommends a combination of the G-POWER 20-inch SILVERSTONE DIAMOND wheel set with Michelin tires measuring 245/30 ZR 20 on the front and 285/25 ZR 20 on the rear and the G-POWER “GZ4-RS” coil-over suspension with 9-way adjustable compression and rebound. The outcome is higher cornering speeds and improved directional stability at top speed.
Always worthy of consideration is the G-POWER rear sport silencer. This hand-built silencer is made completely inside and out from stainless steel and combines an outstanding fit with OE quality. As fine as they may be, however, these qualities pale to insignificance with the first chords of the symphony flowing from the 4 x 76 mm tail pipes. With a powerful bass starting at low engine speed, turning up the heat as it rises through the middle and upper rev ranges, the G-POWER rear silencer skillfully underscores the significantly increased sporty character of any BMW tuned by G-POWER. This characteristic sound is made possible by G-POWER’s patented “DEEPTONE” technology.

The last question is, of course, the critical one – How much does it all cost? Entry into the world of G-POWER supercharger systems starts at EUR 2,500.00 (net) for the installation-ready SK Plus supercharger system. A TÜV certificate of conformity makes TÜV registration straightforward. If preferred, complete installation including TÜV inspection can also be carried out by G-POWER at its headquarters in Autenzell.
G-POWER M6 HURRICANE RR based on the BMW M6: The World’s Fastest 4-seat Coupé

After the G-POWER M5 HURRICANE RS with bi-supercharger engine and 750 hp / 551 kW broke the record for the “world’s fastest saloon car” at the end of 2008 with a speed of 367.4 km/h, G-POWER went one step further in 2010, taking the existing record to a new all-time best of 372 km/h with the next evolution of the same car – the M5 HURRICANE RR.
The 800 hp 588 kW V10 bi-supercharger engine familiar from the G-POWER M5 HURRICANE RR is now also available in BMW’s full-size coupé, making the G-POWER M6 HURRICANE RR the world’s fastest 4-seat Coupé.
The necessary power increase comes courtesy of a further developed version of the 750 hp / 551 kW SK III RS bi-supercharger system, with the 800 hp evolution featuring two ASA T1-316 radial supercharger. The charge air, which is pre-compressed inside the two superchargers, is cooled to performance-enhancing temperatures by the dual-flow, water-cooled charge air cooler system finished in G-POWER’s characteristic orange. This complex aluminum casting replaces the standard-production air box on top of the engine and, because of its short intake channels, facilitates the same spontaneous throttle response as the series production engine, combined, however, with a substantial increase in torque.
The inside of the ten-cylinder four-valve engine has been optimized by lightweight, precisely balanced Mahle high-performance forged pistons with lower compression and increased stiffness. Dedicated components are also required in place of the series-production con rods and piston pins, which are not specified to handle the significant increase in forces. Modified mapping for the engine electronics also contributes to the higher peak output of 800 hp / 588 kW at between 7,500 and 8,000 rpm. The maximum torque of 800 Nm is generated at 5,000 rpm.
Of course, the outstanding performance figures delivered by the G-POWER M6 HURRICANE RR are not limited to top speed alone. With less than 4.35 seconds from 0–100 km/h, the almost two-tone coupé sets a standard that is just as impressive as the 9.5 seconds it takes to 200 km/h and the 24,9 seconds to the 300 mark.
Alongside the most powerful BMW engine ever to power a road-legal BMW M6, aerodynamics also played a fundamental role. Thus, the HURRICANE RR has been equipped with a G-POWER carbon-fiber front skirt and a rear spoiler for greater aerodynamic down force at high speed.
The G-POWER M6 HURRICANE RR maintains its contact to the road with 20-inch G-POWER SILVERSTONE CLUBSPORT forged wheels clad in 255/35 ZR 20 and 285/30 ZR 20 rubber. Optimization for performance was, of course, a priority in this department, too. Consequently, the all-new SILVERSTONE CLUBSPORT forged alloy wheels, measuring 9.0 x 20 inches and 10.5 x 20 inches, are no heavier than the series-production wheels, despite their far greater dimensions.
Further contributors to the high-speed capability of the M6 HURRICANE RR are the G-POWER high-performance braking system and the G-POWER RS coil-over sports suspension, with 9-way adjustability for compression and rebound plus infinitely variable height adjustment.
The exclusive nature of this automobile is clearly indicated by a tachometer that measures up to 400 km/h, visible carbon-fiber paneling for the dashboard, centre console and door trim, as well as the ergonomically shaped G-POWER sports steering wheel upholstered in perforated and highly tactile Kjerba Nappa leather.
The G-POWER M6 HURRICANE RR is available for order as a complete vehicle from G-POWER in Autenzell, Germany. The same G-POWER engine technology is also available in a 750 hp version for the current BMW M5 and M6.
